If There is an Equation

When asked to write,
An equation,
Describing the works of the world.
You simplify,
Try and isolate the non-existent variable.
Find reason in how an equation is math,
Math only has one answer.
This equation doesn’t,
It may not even have an answer.
You may not even have an equation.
Adding the same things to each side,
You still have an equal equation.
So there is a balance scale,
Nothing on each side of the scale.
You think to make a world on each side,
Adding the same things on each.
You add time,
Space,
All that is,
All that has been,
All that will be,
Life,
Death,
Laws of nature.
The balance scale is broken.
You’re not sure when it broke,
Perhaps it was broken in the first place.
Perhaps balance is non existent,
Only similarity.
So you try again,
Subtracting from both sides,
Take away the laws of nature,
Death,
Life,
All that will be,
All that has been,
All that is,
Space,
And time.
You realize there is nothing left,
Not even the balance scale.
Perhaps it wasn’t reassembled when it was broken.
But you have nothing.
No scale,
No balance,
No variable,
And no equation,
Noticing you don’t need an equation for the world,
And wondering why you were asked to write one.
Realizing you have ended up on the edge of no where.
