Hurricane Beryl

It was early in the morning in Houston and a hurricane called Hurricane Beryl came storming by my house. I peered outside the window next to my bed to see that all four of the trees in the backyard had toppled over. Shortly after, the storm stopped and my dad and I drove to Home Depot to get some supplies to fix the trees. To my horror, when I got to Home Depot, the place was crowded with people stocking on supplies. The next day, I got up and opened my laptop. I searched something up but there was no internet. The hurricane was so destructive that it had disabled electricity for half of the day.
Later that day, I connected to the internet and opened a map of the hurricane. I was shocked to see that the place that I lived was only at the tip of the hurricane. Only then did I realize how devastating the hurricane was. I opened the news to search for the hurricane and there it was. I read through everything: the bustling supermarkets in Kingston, the broken trees. I realized that I could relate to so much of the article but at the same time, so little. Everything I experienced was so small compared to the countries that were in the center of the hurricane. This also makes me wonder, how long will the hurricane last? Will it go to any major cities? If so, how will it affect it?
